Privacy Policy
Hairdaze is an iOS app that helps you track your hair-care routine and understand how it affects your hair. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to the Hairdaze app and to hairdaze.app.
Hairdaze is currently in closed beta and operated by an independent developer. In this policy, “we” and “Hairdaze” mean that operator, and “you” means the person using the app.
What we collect
Account information
- Your email address.
- If you sign in with Apple or Google, an identifier from that provider and the email address it gives us. We do not receive your password, and we do not request access to your contacts, calendar, files, or anything else held by those accounts.
What you log in the app
This is the heart of the product, and it is the information you enter yourself:
- Washes, conditioning, and other routine steps, with their timing.
- Products you use.
- Heat styling and the hairstyles you wear.
- Workouts and activity that may affect your hair.
- Menstrual cycle information, if you choose to track it.
- Salon appointments.
- Your own ratings of how your hair looked and felt.
- Any notes, events, or plans you add.
Collected automatically
- Local weather conditions, used as an input to your forecast.
- Basic technical information needed to run the service, such as device type and app version.
- A push notification token, if you turn notifications on.
Health-related information
Menstrual cycle tracking is optional. If you use it, that information is treated as sensitive: it is used solely to generate your own hair insights, it is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes. You can stop tracking it at any time, and deleting your account deletes it.
Hairdaze is a planning and confidence tool, not a medical service. It does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice, and it is not a fertility or contraceptive aid.
How we use your information
- To provide the app: storing your logs and showing them back to you.
- To find patterns between the things you control and your own ratings, and to turn those into forecasts and personalised guidance.
- To send account emails, such as email confirmation and password resets.
- To send push notifications you have opted into.
- To keep the service working, secure, and free of abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run Hairdaze. They process data on our instructions and only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and backend hosting.
- Resend — sending account emails such as confirmations and password resets.
- Apple — app distribution, Sign in with Apple, and push notification delivery.
- Google — Sign in with Google, if you use it.
- RevenueCat — subscription management, if and when paid plans are offered.
- Cloudflare — hosting this website.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Hairdaze or its users.
Storage, location, and security
Your data is stored on infrastructure provided by the services above, which may be located in the United States or other countries. Access is restricted, connections are encrypted in transit, and database access rules are used to keep your records separate from other users’. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active.
Your choices
- Delete your account. You can delete your account from within the app. This removes your account and the data associated with it. Some records may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten.
- Skip what you don’t want to track. Every category of logging is optional, including cycle tracking.
- Turn off notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
- Access or correct your data by contacting us at the address below.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or port it, or to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will honour those rights where they apply.
Children
Hairdaze is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and we will revise the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will let you know in the app or by email.
